Photographer's Note
This was taken from inside the observation level of the Empire State Building. This is actuially a shot of a hallway of mirrors with the tourists outside in those mirrors reflection. This was scanned from a 35mm negative. It hade the usual fixes (clone spotting for dust and level tweeking.) I also applied a very subtle green/brown tritone to richen the contrast.

Good morning, Hugh,
I like this shot with its view down the hall of windows and the natural "sandwich" layering of windows, balcony and fence. The fence makes a vaguely lurid point of interest, as I see it is designed not only for safety, but with suicide prevention in mind.
I grew up in NY and never went to the Empire State Building (or any of the "attractions" for that matter); but my father took me to the top of the PanAm building many years ago and I recall how insignificant the rest of the city looked from way up. Here you have managed to catch that sense of elevated distance in your background. Very well done and a good choice for black & white to maximize the strong lines.
