Photographer's Note

Look closely or you'll miss it!

First built about 1888, This is a lovely Queen Anne, which tragically experienced a devastating second-floor fire in the 2010s, but it has since been lovingly rebuilt, as a duplex. The old carriage house out back has been converted into an AirBNB rental, so you can actually stay there! It features the steep, high-pitched gabled roof with multiple intersections and the characteristic wrap-around porch with wood-turned columns and balustrade, wood siding and the wood shingles in the gable ends and walls, as well as ouble-hung windows, decorative patterns and brackets at the porch roof projections and gable elements on the roof rake overhangs. It's an important and elaborate house, which sat empty for the better part of a decade. The property sold for about $5,000 US, I think, which was essentially just the land, but now there is a vibrant and thriving home on the property which retained the lower story, so at least some of it survives as opposed to having been totally demolished.
