Photographer's Note
Green, White, Orange: in that order, the colors of the Mexican flag. This shot was taken in San Antonio, a city that used to belong to that country before it was split off as part of the Republic of Texas (later annexed into the United States of America) in 1836. The building on the right is the Bexar County Courthouse, located in the main plaza of the city. Completed in 1896, it is one of San Antonio's most beautiful buildings (a fairly long list, overall).
San Antonio is probably best known as the home of the Alamo, an old Spanish mission which became the flashpoint of the war between the new Mexican Republic and Texian rebels in the 1830s over a variety of issues, including taxation, centralization, slavery and religion. I'll post a couple of shots from the Alamo over the next couple days.

Excelent balance in colour and composition in this photograph !!
The brightly lit 'orange' building is captured with all its architectural details.
The white background appropriately supports the images in the foreground. The 'green' hotel is an interesting and well taken contrast.
Thanks for sharing, Andrew.

Hello Andrew,
As with your recent pictures it was a great advantage that you turned a bit to the side and included something which may not originally have been your intention. The County Courthouse may be a fine building, but it is the inclusion of part of the hotel and the many details of that building that makes this an interesting photo. This is a lot more dynamic than a plain photo of the courthouse and nothing else.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Andrew
Very clever positions of the buildings to show the flag in this unique way, and to top it off, a very interesting portrayal of these types of architecure. The orange lit building is calassically beautiful, while the green lit building reminded me of the art deco hotels of Miami. Really nicely seen!
All the best

Hi dear Andrew
A lovely Blue Hour shot, with the courthouse looking as glamourous as any church I've seen recently. I like the gold tones and how they contrast with the pastel tones of the early Blue Hour. I also like the street signage on the left, which gives it a thoroughly American feeling. Nice work and thanks for your note on this eclectic town.
Warm regards
Lisa
