Photographer's Note
City Dock, Fredericksburg, VA - The riverside was once a busy area with ships docking and wagons unloading and loading and leaving for the interior as well as bringing goods into Fredericksburg. The ships, docked all along the riverside, included large sea-going vessels. In colonial times, Fredericksburg was such a busy international port that Thomas Jefferson said sailors from all over the world could be found there.
These two seagulls seemed to find a bit of peace and warmth from the sun as it rose over City Dock on a cold day in January. History surrounds them on all sides of the river.

Hello Lisa,
In viewing the photograph earlier, I had not realized it was shot locally. It is a well conceived and flawlessly executed shot, replete with vivid colors and razor sharp resolution. The note is also engaging, and offers a quote from Thomas Jefferson that I had not seen before.
Warm regards,
Bulent
