Photographer's Note
Location: Lower Antelope Canyon, near the city of Page, Arizona.
About the Photo: Unlike most places where the best light for shooting is often early morning or late evening, here inside these deep slot canyons the best light is found around midday. Often times when a single beam of light is shining down, photographers will throw sand in the air to create those neat looking beams of light. Definitely not the place you want to be changing lenses, especially with a digital camera. By the time we left we had little particles of sand in our eyes and on our cameras.

Magnificient picture you made here. I saw almost the same picture taken by a photographer in a photography book about landscapes. That sure is a place to take pictures. I love the patterns and the forms rocks created there. The colours are also wonderful and that's the point with such a picture : the colours are so amazing, hard to write something bad about it.

I really like these canyon images, they're poster quality. If I get a chance, I'll go here on a midday as suggested. Very useful note!

Now, you made me Ryan really pissed-off.
Every year I promise myself to go there and see it, and take gazzilions of photos, and twenty-four years passed by, and I'm still promissing myself, and ...and...
Damn, Ryan, you shouldn't have...

Very nice. Composition and detail are right on. Next time you find yourself there, try E100vs. It is a little warmer and that works well with the red rocks.

Hello Ryan,
This place is definitely an inspiring place for photography (I invite everyone to click on ">> page" above your title to see all pictures from the same place).
Yours is certainly among the best for the diversity of orange-red-pink tones and the smooth texture. Great job.

What a great natural formation, the rocks just look so silky smooth and I feel like reaching out and touching them. Great shot.

That's it Ryan, I am moving you from my private "follow" list into my favorites :) It is amazing what can be accomplished with just light and some variations of the same color. I am talking about photography, but if you were an impressionist painter the words would be the same. There is texture, form and movement in this magnificent composition. Lindíssima!
PS. I am pretty sure this will also work fine in b&w. Maybe you should give it a go.

Extremely famous POV with perfect technique. Clean without any further need of corrections or improvements. Great job!
This is such a classical shot that I wonder if you started to try something new, give a new look to this place, but didn't post it at TE?
Very helpful note.

Bonjour Ryan
A gorgeous take you should present to National Geographic!!
Perfect mastery of exposure for a thousand shades of warm tones.
Charming natural volutes, whose texture is enhanced by backlight!
I feel much envy, looking at this picture!

Uauu!! I' breathless...the patterns, the exposure, the composition...I would hang on the wall this one. The frame looks really good.
The place certainly helped, but you really got it...congratulations.

Ryan:
Your photo is convincing me to return to the three friends I have set aside almost 2 years: Canon EOS3 camera, 24-70mm f/2.8L lens and Fujichrome Velvia film.
Just one question about your successful capture: what kind of scanner did you use for this picture?
Thanks.

You picked a great spot for this, Ryan! Since this is a much-photographed place, you have to make a great composition to get noticed, and I'd say you've succeeded. The best part is the inclusion of the sand and gravel at lower left as an alternate texture. Marvelous shot! Regards, Ken.

Stunning. The curvilinear composition is fantastic and to get such richness in such tricky light is amazing. Well done.

This is another amazing shot from this location. I really can't say which I like better. Though the curves and range of light seems to make this one "softer" than the other.
