Photographer's Note

In Arizona the average rainfall in the deserts is less than 6 inches a year. When it does rain, the dry sandy soil does not absorb the rainfall. Water is rushing everywhere. These dry creek beds take on most of the water. When it rains......stay out. walls of water have washed cars and even roads away. During the dry season I like to walk the dry creek beds (washes). I am standing below looking out of one these creek beds. Much easier to traverse the desert walking in the washes on hikes. I am surprised to see how many others run, hike, and even like me taking images. Here at this point I am over 60 miles away from Phoenix. In my 2 hours here taking images, I saw at least 10 people in this remote area. I love the desert.
