A Horse With No Name, a photo from Arizona, West

Photographer's Note

This photo was taken looking east from US Highway 89 somewhere between The Grand Canyon and Page, Arizona.
The sky was such a vibrant dark blue and the sun was breaking through just a little. There were some wild horses grazing out in the desert, so I stopped to take some pictures.

Film: Fuji Velvia.
Scanned with Nikon Coolscan 5000 ED.

Nice work--the very intense blue sky contrasts well with the warmer foreground. Maybe it would have been nice to take a slightly lower POV to pull most of the horse above the horizon line so as to make the horse appear a little bit bigger/more significant and also to seperate the horizon from the horse's back, because right now they kind of blend into each other.
