Photographer's Note
Who is that guy in my picture? j/k. A shot from the Trek Earth meeting in the Mono Basin Scenic Area this past weekend. I'm kind of new to TE or well didn't to much about it but of course now I do. The trip was quite enjoyable and have never photographed for a full 24 hours, really 24 hours after sunset me and another TE member(Doug) left our film cameras at the lake overnight. So sunrise to sunrise. You were all very nice people and I look forward to the next meeting. Thanks Peter(in the photo), Doug, Pat, Larry, John & his wife.

Hello Steve,
Yes it was great meeting you and I look forward to seeing more of your shots. This composition is amazing and is well seen from the lower frame all the way through to the horizon. The photographer in the scene is surprisingly still and sharp since it was a full 2 second exposure. I guess he was concentrating as hard as you on getting the perfect composition. Great color saturation too.
Regards,
Doug

Hi Steve,
The light is magic, not your usual sunrise colors. The water turns to silvery silk, the salt crusted roots like some giant prehistoric shellfish. I was so enchanted with the light and patterns that I didn't see Doug until I read his note.
You can find John hereIt weas a pleasure meeting you as well. HLJ, Pat

Hi Steve,
Well if I have to judge your time at this scenic area over the week-end, by this image, I will have to say it was very well spent. The image is absolutely excellent.....everything about it is very good. Great interest in the foreground with the iced "roots"? Very well done.
Cheers Grant

Hi Steve,
Yeah, amazing! 2 seconds and the guy so sharp!! I am sure that he had an exposure of 5 seconds going there :-). Was this ice? It does look incredibly 'fresh', but June in California... Great shot! Hope to be part in one of those TE meetings in the future, but none here in Indonesia ;-).
Greetings, Dennis

Hi Steve.
Great composition. Great foreground. Beautiful light. Would have preferred it without the guy in it. Well done.
Regards, Steve.

Steve, Im speechless. I guess that this here must be the best picture taken of me EVER, although I barely can see myself and certainly would never have recognized me without seeing it on your LCD display. My presence doens't even give any impact to the shot. It is your superb composition and extremely well balanced light management that makes this here a real eye popper. I just can't resist and will take it into my favorite collection!

Beatuful shot Steve!
It looks very fresh and clean! I like your comp and closeness to the ground.
Wish I knew about the summit a week ago. I would have for sure loved to be there!
How would I find out about another one?
I have so much to learn!
