Earth Day Biker, a photo from California, West

During the Earth Day 2006 Fair, in Balboa Park, San Diego, California ("the largest free annual environmental fair in the world") there was a Cleaner Car Caravan parade, that included bicycles. I noticed this biker, not only because of his not-so-usual bike, but also because of his political stickers, especially the black and yellow. I did a shoot while he was moving (on the parade), which wasn't so good, and when he spotted me he said, "I'll stop for the picture". As I had the opportunity to get a better shot of the stikers, I did it. The result is here.

Desfile no Dia da Terra 2006, em San Diego. Além da mensagem ecológica, este ciclista transmitia também uma mensagem política. O trocadilho com o nome do presidente, no autocolante amarelo e preto, traduz-se por: "há lixo sob cada arbusto" (Bush = bush = arbusto).
Imagem típica dum americano optimista e bem disposto.

Unique vehicle you have captured Francisco! Nice composition and great expresion from the gentleman. You had a very nice "cooperation". Thanks for sharing!

He,he, bem apanhado, Francisco. Ontem foi o dia da marginal sem carros e adorei o ambiente onde também havia algumas bicicletas 'diferentes'. Seria espectacular se ouvesse mais espaço para elas nas cidades deste mundo.

Hi Francisco,
I think you've done a good job of capturing the sense of the Earth Day celebration, in Balboa Park. I like the way you've framed the biker on the diagonal with the the Park and the people as a background. Good detail and light mangement. There is a Balboa Park theme, so I'll add your picture to it.

a foto está bem enquadrada e com boa luz e nitidez, mostra bem o cidadăo e o quanto isso faz parte da cultura americana. é o que já disse antes, por aqui ninguém anda com cartazes fazendo protestos solitários contra presidentes-mula, quando andam, estăo sempre em bandos barulhentos.enfim, diferenças culturais..acho que isso tem algo a ver com o protestantismo, ir e mostrar o erro aos outros, pregar aos infiéis, salvá-los, etc..
