Underwater Meditation, a photo from Hawaii, West

Photographer's Note

I took a snorkeling day trip from Maui over to the Lanai coast. I took several underwater pictures that day, but this one turned out the best. The trick was to get underneath the subject, which was extremely difficult while holding my breath because I didn't have time to equalize my ears.

p.s. This was taken with an underwater disposable camera, so please forgive the lack of image quality.

Great composition, Todd! Never having tried it, I know that underwater photography is very difficult, primarily because of how quickly the light falls off the deeper you go. You've done a nice job with the composition and POV - all very difficult given the conditions. And I like the colors as well, being so close to the surface they didn't all shift to blue/green. I did a workshop on it to remove some of the noise.
