Colours of Maui, a photo from Hawaii, West

Photographer's Note

When I shared my previous archival photos from the Hawaiian island of Maui, I concentrated mainly on the palm trees on a beach, later on the volcanic aspect of the island, and I missed so many other great spots which I visited. This picture was taken on one of the stops along the road when I was driving around the north western part of the island. The weather was great, and the polarizer made the colours to stand out. I considered to decrease the saturation but then again: it is a scan from a print, and I decided to keep it natural.

wow, what a great looking photo, picture perfect postcard type, I can see it sitting on the shelves waiting to be purchased :)
the colors and lighting look perfectly fine to me, I honestly wouldn't change anything. love the clouds, they go so deep into the frame, and I like the height on the right side compared to the left side. great compo, it really stands out

Hello Mariusz, this shot has 3D qualities. The sky is such a beautiful backdrop to the foreground with the green grass and those interesting rock formations.
You give us just a hint of the sea.

Wow, what an amazing place with these green slopes, beautiful rock formations and a deep blue ocean. Also the white clouds are so nice in the blue sky. The colours are really well-saturated.

Hello Mariusz,

This doesnt immediately seem like a scan. The colours, though bright, are just as you would expect them on a glorious, sunny day.
The scenery is very attractive and creates a fine sense of depth.
Though there isnt a strong focal point, you have created a good composition, the highest point nicely off-centre and a slight path, leading to the sea inlet.

Mariusz, that hill overlooks the sea, it is covered with lemon green grass. The volcanic soil looks fertile in this area. Hawai offers breathtaking landscapes. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

kolorystyka zdjecia faktycznie bardzo nasycona, ale pamietam ze taka czesto uzyskiwało sie na analogowych materiałach przy zastosowaniu filtra polaryzacyjnego.
Ladny fragment tej wyspy, uroizmaicony krajobraz.

Now I upload more photos than you, because I have plenty of time, I suppose you have heard that we have already been confined at home for 10 days, without being able to leave due to the coronavirus, and so we will continue until at least April 11, but this time I would not want it have, because on TV the news that leaves you stunned are constant, in these last 24 hours there have been 500 deaths, most of them in Madrid, which is where the most virulent focus is, the hospitals are full and it has had to be enabled as a hospital, the Fairground with 3,000 beds, which can reach 5,000 and the Ice Palace, has become a morgue to carry the corpses, as there is no time to incinerate and bury, at the rate of death, so this is how a war.
Seeing photos as beautiful as these help us, to think of better days when we can once again enjoy nature and its beauty.
A magnificent color that gives a lot of chromatic richness to the image.

Hello Mariusz,
This picture shows a wonderful deserted part of the island.
Great view of the ocean together with the hill on which the rocks are scattered and some on top stand upright.
When I read the title of your picture for a moment I confused Maui with Moai and I looked closer if those rocks were statues :) But the Moai are found on another island in the same ocean yet very far away from Maui. I'm afraid I'm starting to mix up the interesting places in the Pacific :(
In any case, I love the desolation of this beautiful place.
