Hot Air Ballooning
Taos, NM

Another followup for my hot air balloon series. This is our shadow as we are heading towards the Rio Grande Gorge.

The Rio Grande starts in southern colorado, winds through New Mexico, and then forms the boarder between Texas and Mexico. The gorge, just west of Taos, NM is neaerly 800 feet deep. It is a popular area for rafting, taking dips in the "clothing optional" hot springs, and of course hot air ballooning.

I'm posting another image of our shadow heading deeper into the gorge as a WS. I wasn't sure which one I liked better, but opted not to post both.

More images of the gorge to come.

Great shot here! Such a unique image and I love that you captured the shadow of the balloon rather than the balloon itself - very smart. Although if you were in the balloon I'm not sure if you had much a choice. Nicely captured,

I like the simplicity of this pic, having only 3 layers, the balloon, hte landscape, and the sky. Good sharpness and good job not placing the balloon in the center. Well done!

Hi Amber, as i'm in "shadow mood", i can't resist on this one, for sure very difficult to obtain and imitate - need a ballon and kind of a desert in new mexico - and this is why it's a great one : rare.
Good work on PP too, yes this is a very nice picture
