Photographer's Note
Location:Somewhere along the Cecret Lake Trail in the Albion Basin near Alta, Utah. The Mountain in the background is the Devils Castle.
About the Photo: This was my first time hiking the Cecret Lake trail, and only my 2nd time coming to the Albion Basin (other than in winter to ski). I probably would have never thought to go if it wasn't for a recent photo of Albion Basin posted by Dana Rees a few days ago. So thank you Dana, because it was absolutely beautiful, and I really enjoyed seeing all the moose along the trail (3 bulls, and mother with a baby).

Hello Ryan,
This picture is beautiful in every aspect. The colours, sharpness and PoV are excellent. The white frame around the picture is also very effective. It looks like a mountain postcard. Very good note too.
Cheers,
Roberto

Simple, sharp, beautiful. Those pink flowers really does it for me. They give an impressionist feeling to the bottom part and help to give your image an immense depth. It's so balanced with three layers of interest. The sky is amazing and crucial here. I love it Ryan!

Beautiful rich color as always, Ryan (maybe a bit much in the sky.) Those Indian paintbrush make a great accent. Classic alpine scenery in a beautifully composed photo. Regards, Ken.

Ryan, your compositional skills are very good. This shot is very well framed, colorful, and sharp. I really like the use of the polarizer too.
Just a week ago I went up there for the flowers and ended up spending 2 hours shooting a bull moose. I hope to get up there again for the flowers before they are gone.
Again, very inspiring work.

Ryan,
This is a stunning shot! I'm glad you made it up there, it is nice to see your work. Very nice placement of colors. The moose were at it again last time I was there, luckily the male wasn't standing, eating right in the middle of the trail.

From a compositional point of view, vertical orientation is more challenging, for the viewer and for the photographer. It really worked here, as you used very well the rule of the thirds, wich is even more important than in horizontal orientation. Sure that the more evident flowers (than in the other photo) help a bit and the exposure resulted better here than the other photo.
Honestly, I think this is a perfect traditional landscape.
PS: you are really a master class photographer...thanks for sharing.
