Photographer's Note
Location: Delicate Arch, in Arches National Park, Utah.
About the Photo: This shot was taken about 5-10 minutes before the sun went down. With every passing minute the color of the rocks got more and more red. At the same time a group of tourist came and decided they wanted a group photo next to the arch. I sat patiently thinking they would soon leave, but they didn't. Oh well, I guess they just add some scale to the photo.

The effect of the natural frame "nearly heart shaped" is great. The colors are nice as well!

Man, you are going to give me a hard time on commenting this! :) Well, let's start with the framing. I like it. I wonder how it would be if it wasn't so contrasted. I imagine some texture, some warm colors. In this way you leave me dreaming... But I really like it. It reminds me the scissor artists at the Place du Tertre in Paris. Next to the tilt. I am not sure here. I don't know why you did it. Probably you thought it would go with the frame forms. Or maybe it is just the way the place is. Anyway, I don't think it really works for me. I guess I would like to see the foreground arch leveled with the big rock behind. Third and final, the people. Surprisingly, I love it! For the first time someone gave me the opportunity to realize how huge the arch is. I really don’t think they spoil the picture. Instead, they enrich it. Thanks for sharing this. By the way, the color, light and sharpness are amazing. As always.

Hi Ryan,
I hate tourists on 95% of all my pictures, but sometimes you can't avoid it.
I have to travel from far to be here in September, and i know for sure i am gonna be very angry when they even try to stand in front of the arch at the 5 or 10 min i got for the right light.
But maybe is such a shot like this one a very good alternative, because it shows more than just the arch. It's a complete different view and that is really what i like about this one.
Very good...!!!

I share your feelings regarding people just standing in the middle of my potential shots. Waiting is sometimes fatal because at the end of your patience you might have even more people on the scene as at the beginning or the light conditions cahnged dramatically and do not allow you anymore to take "that" picture. Anyway, I think in this case it really doesn't bother and gives a perspective.
The compo with the framing is tantalizing as well as the colors and sharpness.
Great job!

Good light and great framing. Don't mention the people and no one would notice.
