Nice Day for a Drive, a photo from Utah, West

Photographer's Note

These skies unloaded on us about one hour after I took this shot. It was a torrential downpour. I really like this shot for the totally dramatic sky in it.

I shot this while standing out of the sunroof of a car traveling around the racetrack at the Miller Motorsports Park. The sky was handled with a Cokin gradient filter which drew out the effect I wanted.

In this shot are a Porsche GT3-RS, a Cadillac STS-V, an Aston Martin DB9, a Mercedes E63 and CLK55 AMG, a Ferrari 360 Modena, and a Maserati Quattroporte. What a line-up!

I like how uou managed th elight and the beautiful colours in this picture. The sky and the big grey cloud dive an excellent depth. Great work.

Hey Steve - cool shot. I'm a car fan, so I enjoy seeing these beautiful machines! nice job using the gradient filter. I don't see that much. It worked in this image - the photo is moody and the clouds look ominous. Well done.

Congrats Steve, your shot of the race is perfect. You even had the time to use a Cokin gradual gray filter, wow, that means action and a good balance while standing in the car. Excellent light management produces vibrant colors and high sharpness. Well done
