Pike Place Market
Downtown Seattle, Washington
This is the World Famous Pike Place Fish Market, the fish market known for throwing fish that have been ordered. Quite a croud typically gathers waiting for an order to be taken to see the sights. The person in the picture here happened to walk past as I was taking this image; I left her in because I liked the purple color of her coat.
The Pike Place Market opened in 1907 and now is Seattle's Number one tourast draw. In the summer, it is estimated that 40,000 visitors come by every Saturday. During the winter, it is less crowded, but still busy. The market is lined by fruit stands, florists, craft displays, street performers, and of course the fish markets, the one here being the main attraction, which opened in 1965.
The Dunganess Crab seen here is a popular type of crab from the Pacific Northwest.
Other pictures from the market are here.

Hi Amber,
Good colours and lots of interesting details to look at. Perhaps a closer POV would have been better. Nice shot though!

Before I could see where the photo was taken I could figure out it was Seattle, I mean your picture is very representative of that city, good work.
Oscar.
