Photographer's Note
Location: Snake River Overlook just off Route 89 in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming.
About the Photo:Some of you will recognize this view of the snake river made famous my Ansel Adams in a photo he shot from this same location back in 1942. The trees are taller now and partially block the view of the river. The far bank in Ansel's photo had smaller trees as well. It's interesting to see how things change. Ansel Adams photo is attributed with helping this area become a National Monument 1943. In 1950 it was made into a National Park.

Nothing like seeing the world through rose-colored glasses! The rose color of dawn really adds to the beauty of this wondrous place. Your photos always have fabulous color, and this is no exception. Interesting how the "horizon" below the mountains looks crooked even though it is obviously straight, based on the foreground trees. Beautiful as always, Ryan. Regards, Ken.

Hi Ryan,
What a beautiful landscape! The POV in a high point gives us a good global view of the place. The colours of the sky and of the river are great. I just note a very very little tilt.
Good job,

Wow, splendid picture. From the cold colors in the bottom to the warm in the top. So many details. Lovely little clouds, great furious mountains. Great POV, it's like you're floating above the area.
Nice shot.

Hi Ryan,
Oh man...what a beauty.
The Velvia does it all...agree?
I still have my old EOS 1 here, maybe i should buy a roll of Velvia.
If they could build a digital camera with that dynamic range, then it would be perfect.
Your image comes close to perfection, on of the best i have seen today, probably on of the best from the whole week.
Light and detail is excellent, flawless light on the mountains and sky...wonderful..!!!

Great compo, fabulous colors enhanced by the early dawn light, good balance between both plans and a perfect framing around the trees. Nothing more to be said. Great landscape photography.

Hello Ryan
A very beautiful and majestic natural landscape, the light is beautiful and the way you captured the river leads our eyes towrds the horizon, only comment is that the horizon looks a bit tilted.
Otherwise very well done

Very nice... I still remember coming out of Yellowstone south and seeing this same image for the first time (only my first time was at evening). (That really says something about this scene that people will refer to it this way).
Very nice. Well done.
I would like to see you do something with your new digital here...

Hi Ryan,
The color of the sky drew me to this photo. I love the pinks and purples! Great composition, I like how you were able to get a good section of the river in with the mountains behind and tress in the foreground! The colors in the mountains remind of Andy Warhol for some reason? Particularly the pink and turquoise, which are in his famous "Marilyn" image. Or maybe I just need some sleep. Great shot!
Thanks,
Liz
