Photographer's Note

This is taken near the top of Golden Gate National Recreation Area in The Marin Headlands areas. Most people just stop to overlook the view of the bridge just on the first overlook closest to the bridge, you can actually continue up the hill for this view and there are hiking trails down to the beach where you can see the bridge from the Lower POV.

The Marin Headlands is a hilly area at the southernmost end of Marin County, California, above the Golden Gate. The Headlands are located just north of San Francisco, immediately across the Golden Gate Bridge. The entire area is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. The Headlands are famous for their stunning views of the Bay Area, especially the Golden Gate Bridge.
