Photographer's Note
Well, not a REAL Memory Lane, it's actually Riverwalk Park in Columbia. :)) It's a beautiful park and that structure that goes over it is a rose trellis with just SCADS of yellow roses.
I do miss Trekearth terribly. It seems since things changed, I lost all passion for even taking photos. But - I was struggling even before then. Maybe chasing after a two year old might have a bit to do with it, too. That's a hard job on a grandma. :))
I was looking through my photos on here and reading all the good critiques and it was terrible. Kind of like when you get a divorce and everything changes and your friends get all scattered. This used to be what I did when I drank my coffee in the mornings, when the boys all were in bed and my time was mine. Now I do virtual farming on Facebook. Things actually grow for me on there..LOL
But I do miss you all and wish I had more time (and more energy) and still loved taking photos like I once did. Hope you're all having a great summer...

Hi Shelly, rather sad note. Indeed, TE is not as it used to be, specially now in the holiday time. But I still hope that it will be more activity in autumn, with many great shots, also yours! Nice walking uunder pergola. Beautiful place. I was chasing lately my 1,5 years old Ada, it was a happy time and I made a lot of photos.

Hi Shelly,
Thanks for sharing this beautiful photo of nature. You have captured this simple subject nicely. Congrats.

Hi Shelly.
Good to see you are still uploading some photos, although infrequently.
This one has a nostalgic title and mood to match your own, by the look of it. But it has great perspective and undulating shadows, plus the people well placed in the composition. I suppose it was a little early in the year for those yellow roses.
TE has certainly changed, but I find that there is not much else on the net to rival the way it blends photography, travel and the social side, even if commercialism seems to have crept in too far. I hope to keep seeing you around.
Regards,
Andrew

The colors and waving lines on the bridge give an air of magic and mystery to this place. Very nice. Thank you. Judy

Dear Shelly,
crossing a bridge is sometimes either beautiful
or hard, is not it?
I like point of view of this photo, broken lines of the shadow make the photo impressive.
Take it easy,

Hi Shelly,
A nice shot accompanied by a nice, but sad note. I stayed away fron TEfor a couple of months as well. Disappointed by the continuous bickering about - for me - unimportant issues, the frantic chase for points. Also rather busy with a continuously growing family, 4 grandchildren and a fifth announced for next week!
But I missed TE as well, so I try to return from time to time to see what my favorites are doing.
Have a nice day and take care
John

Hi, Shelly -
First off, nice shot. I particularly like the wiggly line leading to main POV - highly unusual; more often you see diagonals, which are nice, but this one is fun! My eye keeps wanting to wiggle along.
You do want to pay attention to the edge, which is hard; you clipped a bit of the top of the arbor there.
As for your note....
I have also cut back on TE, though in my case it's only partly because of the changes here; my life is getting more hectic right now and TE gets lower priority. But I agree that it is not the same as it was, and never will be.
I am still here, though, as I see you are from time to time, and I have not yet found (nor lately had time to find) a new place to park. How are you faring with Perfectly Captured?
Best,
Dan
PS: Don't lose your passion for photos just because TE let you down. And chasing a 2-year-old is less than no excuse - it's a perfect occasion to take more pictures! (Whether they're the TE type is irrelevant.)

Hi Shelly,
des lumičres difficiles bien capturées mais aussi la bonne idée de pousser le chemin sur la droite de la photo pour décentrer.
C'est net et soigné.
Amicalement.
Daniel.

Hello Shelly,
The winding walkway is attracting attention, enhanced by the shadow following the same pattern!
Well framed scene with intriguing play of light, a balanced composition with great depth...
Strong natural colours, many fine shades of green!

I like very much this photo - but not your note (:-) you are pulling yourself down, what's the use of it?
Life is just like this long passage you show in this photo: you know what you are leaving behind but you can't see where you are leading to, just enjoy the passage!
A very bright, vivid and well composed photo. Very good colours and light management.
Compliments,
Donato

Hello Shelly
A nice photo which triggered a certain melancholy ... It was a little difficult to find its bearings with the new interface TrekEarth, but eventually it done.

Hello Shelly,
This lovely photo evidently rolled in while I was away. Together with the poignant note, it had a profound effect on me. The light management is perfect, allowing the depth of field to show. The zigzagging shadow of the handrail on the walkway, is emblematic of the ups and downs of life perhaps. Too many talented photographers, good TE friends left. I am glad that you have not left completely. Have a good Sunday,
Bulent

Hi Shelly.Well, what can one do when everything changes and nothing remains the same? I suppose one floats and accommodates to new currents on one's journey to the Great Ocean. Old friends may be gone but the world is a big place and making new connections is on the cards. I suppose after reading your note, the figures disappearing in your composition could represent the friends you made(hence the title), but others will be just behind you, seeing the world through your eyes and appreciating your individual POV, as I do. Regards. Klaudio.
