Photographer's Note
This shot was taken while partially up Grouse Mountain on a beautiful morning. There was a large herd of elk wandering through the forest below, and their bugling could be heard during some of this portion of the hike.
I came upon these purple flowers and thought they would be a fitting foreground for a landscape shot looking down into the valley. The smaller snow-covered peak on the right does not have a name, but its elevation is 12,161 feet (3,707 meters).
I have posted another photo of this landscape with a different perspective as a workshop here: Purple Flowers - alternate view. Which do you prefer?

Hello Adam,
it is not easy to answer your question, both shots are beautiful, the one in the workshops drives the attention to flowers though and therefore I like it a tiny bit more (flower lover - you know). But the landscape and the depth is stunning in the first picture which emphasizes the mountains - with the flowers as a nice detail in the foreground.
Thanks for sharing both of them.
Best wishes from the Czech Republic

Hallo Adam!
Both pictures are more than beautiful - they really are impressive. I like how you also show the landscape and that the photos are sharp from foreground to background. A wonderful place and a great and wide landscape. A photo to look at a bit longer ...
Greetings from cold and snowy Germany - and have a nice weekend!
Frank
