Photographer's Note

The centerpiece in this view is Abe Lincoln, a giant sequoia, within Calaveras Big Trees State Park. Sequoias are the earth's largest trees by volume, averaging 50 to 85 meters tall and 6-8 m in diameter. The oldest known sequoia is 3,500 years old.

Sequoias grow naturally only within California's western slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range.
Calaveras Big Trees is located off Highway 4, Ebbets Pass Road.
