When that fog lifted? What a day!, a photo from West Virginia, South

Photographer's Note

When we arrived at the lake in early morning, the fog was so thick you couldn't see the lake. It was so cool watching it burn off, though. It was very nearly gone when I shot this. There are just some mists rising from the water in places. But the light was so good, and the water so clear you could see the rocks beneath it. It was such a MADLY beautiful day for it being August.

What a beautiful place ! The mirror is so clam , providing fine refelections. I understand your enthousiasm : it is allways a great moment to see the mist disappear and when the landscape appears to the view .

Howdy Shelly,

Excellent 'Doppelganger' view of this lake and forest with clouds included on the mirror water surface.

And sounds like West Virginia is similar to our Northern California coastal areas' morning fog, burning off later in the day, even in the summer.

A very fine, nicely balanced picture of tranquility - stillness and a lovely soft light. The water and the green looks beautiful. Nice that you keep the bit of fg angled and the photo has a pleasing depth as we look across the water towards the far end but dash of low sun shine catching on the fg is really awesome. This is a very pleasant nature scene in wonderful atmosphere. Fabulous, a sight to behold. Well done, Spot on!

The reflections on the water are assets to the composition. The wideness of the lake is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colours of the scenery. The light has a good effect on the colours. Have a nice day.

Gorgeous symmetrical reflections, with excellent color, saturation and clarity of the fg water. Well composed using the rule of thirds. The transparent fg water showing the lake bottom stones is nice. The triangle of land at right adds dynamism. Tfs!
