This is a scene from Santa Monica beach. I like the shapes and silhouettes, but the colors were washed out so I decided to turn to black and white. This picture goes well with my other, also black and white, picture from Santa Monica. In fact to see where this photo was taken from, you can watch the silhouettes of people in this photo.

Czasem jest wyjscie i mozna w jakis sposob uratowac zdjecie.
W sumie bardzo fajna kompozycja kadru.
Dobre swiatlo i ciekawe cienie to atut tej pracy.

I like this composition; the curving path and the contrast between light and dark are great. I like all the silhouettes and shadows, too. The fact that the POV is a bit higher than beach level really let you capture a lot of details. Very nice. :-)

Swietne kontrastowe zdjecie pod swiatlo. Dawno temu - w czasach analogowej ciemni lubilem eksperymentowac z takimi kontrastami czarno-bialymi. Bralo sie tzw twarde papier , wywolany film (oczywiscie czarno-bialy) i bylo troche zabawy - lepszej niz obecnie z fotoszopem :)

Przy jubileuszowym zdjęciu napisałem, że licznik nie pokaże więcej wyświetleń i nie pomyliłem się - liczniki odwiedzin zdjęcia czy też strony autora "stoją" od kilkudziesieci dni. Licznik ilości zdjęć i usmiechniętych buziek tudzież komentarzy jeszcze sie przesuwa, ale nikt nie wie jak dlugo. Ciekaw jestem bo zawsze ogladalnosc zdjec wzrastala z upywem czasu i mogl to byc tez ruch genereowany spoza portalu - np odkrylem kiedys ze "popularne" moje zdjecie wyswietlalo sie wysoko w wyszukiwaniu googla i to generowalo pewnie spora ilosc wyswietlen. Innym razem natknalem sie gdzies na stronie na link do zdjecia na TE - w tej chwili zapewne niedziałajacy bo odniesienie było do wersji beta. Te działania "nakrecały" ogladalność i wyświetlenia stron TE - czy teraz tez sa - trudno mi powiedziec. Na TE nawet reklamy sie nie wyswietlaja a to niestety zle wrozy

Hello Mariusz,

B&w is always a possibility when you are disappointed with the colours. They give a strong contrast between the dark sand and the tortuous, silvery path.
I think I would have cropped the sea to lay emphasis on the pathway and the delightful silhouetted figures and their shadows. It seems a neater composition - but that is just my opinion.
Wouldn't that group of five, holding the f/g have made a super shadow pattern if you could have captured them a little closer!

A session in B&W on that beach, Mariusz, and silhouettes are well depicted.
Rightly chosen the B&W format, harsh light glow over the sand and the angle of the rays suggest an afternoon take.

Mariusz, Santa Monica has a famous beach. The passersby use a s shaped promenade to reach the sand and the sea. The palm trees and the people silouhettes are pleasant to observe. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Bardzo dobre ujecie tej plazy i zamiana coloru na B/W calkiem taktowna. Kreta "S" sciezka zdrowia wspaniale jest wkomponowana w piaszczyste wybrzeze, a trzy wysokie palmy jak najbardziej dodaja uroku tej fotografii.

Jeszcze zanim przeczytalam twoj komentarz do zdjecia, przypomnialam sobie to wczesniej zamieszczone przez ciebie zdjecie z Palisades Park. Bardzo dobra, artystycznie ciekawa seria. Super graficzny minimalizm, ksztalt drogi kontrasuje z prostymi liniami palm, a sylwetki i cienie ludzi to swietny dodatek do calosci.

we don't see too many shots in black and white from beaches, so this is a bit unusual, and that's fine with me. You must have taken this before your daughter was born :) Perhaps you weren't even married then either. obviously the light striking the walkway is the key as is the S shape, it turned out well in the b&W version. nice one. cheers
