Sunrise above clouds, a photo from Hawaii, West

Photographer's Note

I had the pleasure to witness some great sunrises in my life. One of them was from the top of Haleakala Volcano which constitutes the majority of Maui Island. You can reach the tallest peak (10,023 feet = 3,055 m) by car. Most people arrive just to watch the sunrise. They return to the beaches shortly after. I didnt manage great photos there, but I tried to show here an impression from that special moment.

This is my 100th photo from the USA.

Hello Mariusz,
A spectacular photo, a great choice for your 100th US picture. The tops of the clouds look wonderful and their blue tones make a great contrast with the yellow and golden tones of the sunrise sky. Very well done.

Hello Mariusz, I get the impression of being on top of the world , a beautiful view.
The side of the volcano in black silhouette which makes the colours of the sunrise even more spectacular. I love the clouds too.

Well composed using the rule of thirds with nice warm cold color contrasts between the lemon yellow orange sky and the blue shadowed fg clouds. The 2 elevated clouds look like a couple of hills with fairytale castles atop them. Tfs!

Hello Mariusz,
This fantastic picture was hidden in your archive for so long time...
It is a magnificent phenomenon when the clouds hang above low terrain / valley, and on the day taken you experienced a wonderful light condition.
Contrast from grey/blue clouds to golden sunrise light was superbly collected.

Hello Mariusz,

This looks like something from the Lord of the Rings!
The dark, f/g triangle setting the scene, and though there is light in the distance, the rising clouds of vapour are about to engulf all who proceed!
Can you feel the mood?
Its a very well composed photograph with excellent colours.

haha, i'm close to posting 100 photos from Iceland, only 3 more to go. If I ever get to this place i'm for sure staying during the night to see the stars, that must be magical here. we don't see sunrises/sunsets above the clouds very often, this is great. sweet shot and experience :)

Hello Mariusz.
These types of sunsets are a wonder and a rarity, difficult to be in a high and foggy place in the valley or the sea, as the case may be, I also found one going up Mount Teide, from where we could see a mattress of clouds over the pair and the sunset above.
This is another beautiful moment.

Hello Mariusz,
The few times I found myself above the clouds (with the exception of being in a plane) gave me a special and spectacular feeling.
Sometimes you don't even have to be very high for that.
This is also one of those spectacular sights.
Very nice with the silhouette of the mountain slope on the foreground and with its long diagonal line.
