Another 2 B&W photos in my Boston series. The main photo was taken in the area north of the Boston Common in what is the old drinking area, possibly Charles St. The first workshop is doing something a bit different using the Photoshop edges filter to highlight the building structures of the same photo. The second workshop photo is from the same district.

Hi Ian,
Excellent drama. Maybe a little less contrast could change the realism. Great angle. TFS
Warm Regards, John

Hello Ian,
Unlike what I thought in your previous photo, I really like the choice of black and white here very much.
The strong contrasts are superb.
Wonderful with the diffferences between the shadows and the sunlit spots.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Ian,
Another fine street view where B&W was a good choice for a timeless effect. The first WS reminds me of photos I took in England in 1966, but they were not quite as sharp. The second WS is an amusing experiment but not really to my taste.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Ian,
Another couple of fine shots where you have really concentrated on the buildings, in fine compositions. There is a very olde worlde atmosphere.
I could easily believe that these shots were taken in England.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Ian,
We see almost, nobody in the street, only a lady against the wall
You create nice depth and perspective too.
I like the pleasant details and perfect sharpness.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John.

Hello Ian, you found a very interesting street with hardly anyone about; that allows us to view the buildings with all their features.
(It seems a very long way from some of your recent shots from your trip in Australia!)
I like the w/s shot where you used the filter, it reminds me of a colouring book!
I like the b/w presentation too.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello Ian,
This is another lovely photo from Boston. This old, cobblestone street, with its smaller brick buildings, takes me back to the past. The choice of B/W works well here, creating a nostalgic atmosphere. It looks so quiet, too, with just one woman walking into the distance.

Hello again,
Another excellent shot in BW (which is my soft spot), which suits the topic well. I like the play of shadows and lights, e.g. the triangular of the lighted area.
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hi Ian,nice experiment in the WS with Photoshop filter, but sincerly the black and white and the soft sharpness of main pic are enough for a great work. Beautiful new memory from Boston,i like the other view too. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hi Ian,
The presence of the person is animating the scene. The point of view is showing the details of the buildindd in old Boston. It is clear and precise. Have a nice day.

Hello Ian, Excellent composition. Fantastic view in black and white. Awesome sharpness. Interesting other pp in the Workshop but I do not like it. I haven't been to this part of Boston, I was interested more in Cambridge and the universities there.
Superb picture, congrats.

Hi Ian,
A nice sharp shot of an old part of the city. The shadows are dealt with well so we can see lots of detail. The B & W treatment gives the image an old time feel.

Ian, that old cobbled street immerses the walker in the rural America although Boston becomes a megalopolis nowadays. That part of the city center must preserved. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hi Ian
I love the mix of retro and bit of new in the backdrop is wonderful. Buildings dated back from before US independence to present day put together in an eclectic mix of architecture and history. Mono suits very well indeed, Great shot
Best regards
