Photographer's Note
The best view of Boston is from Cambridge side. Boston and Cambridge are adjacent between each other with Charles river in between.
The tall building on the left is John Hancock Tower. The tall building on the right is Prudential Building.
John Hancock Tower was designed by I.M. Pei. The construction of the building was finished in 1976. It is the highest building in New England. The building is covered with crystal-like geometry glasses by using 10,000 windows. Right after the structure was built, many of the glasses fell because of temperature changes and vibrations of the high wind. The problem has been solved after some expensive fixes. On the 60th floor of the building is an observation deck.
Prudential building was finished in 1964. The height of the building is 750 feet (229 meters). It has 52 floors. There is a restaurant and lounge on 50th floor of this building, named as prudential skywalk. It offers 360 degree panoramic view of the city.
The weather in New England is changing all the time. I was lucky during my entire trip. I caught a thunderstorm the last day of my visit right before I took this picture. Another heavy rain hit Boston half hours after this picture was taken.

Hi Wes, beautiful sky and threatening light over the cite. The sky has so many tones in it, grey, but also blue and almost cyan or green. I wouldnt mind having a coffee in that restaurant, I do like high points and having a good overview. Not only the high buildings stand out, I like the one on the left of the JH tower, the more or less square one, very much as well..
Very nice view, Wes.

Hi Wes,
It indeed is gloomy and I can also feel the wind coming through the ripples in the water. However, the brighter sky on the right create some interest and the light blue suggest deep space. A nice catch of the moment. Well done!! Regards.

Boston was going to be on my agenda but I didnt get around to it..no time. I know the city though and its a great one. I like how you show the city here with the dark ominous sky. Its a surprise that the skyline hasnt develpd much since I remember it.

Nice moody and "threatening" sky above the skyline, Wes. Boston is probably my favorite city in the U.S. and I always enjoy to see it portrayed in photos. The gloomy weather emphasizes the silhouette aspect of the buildings nicely, particularly of the Prudential Tower. Nice one.
P.S. If I remember well, Boston is located in Massachusetts, not in California ;-) [you can correct this by clicking "edit" in the lefthand menu below the TE logo]

Very well profiled horizon of towers and great architecture.
Nice three part composition where the sky is important in shape and details.
I like also the colours from the buildings.

Hi Wes,
Almost a "singuanti" picture. An American city seen from the opposite site of the water, with a sharp skyline. But storm? maybe a little bit windy?
By all: again an excellent picture.

Hi Wes,
The imminent sky is here the real eyes catcher, with there between the different high buildings, but not forget, the small wrinkles on the foreground make everything lovely.
regards,
John.

Very impressive threatening thick clouds, I like here the dominating grey of the scene with only a few colored spots and the contrast of light in the clouds, nice.

Nice shot Wes. I have to say I chuckled with you entering all the comments on all these high rises. It is interesting how these buildings are such marks of amazing accoplishment. Just this week I saw a picture of the Swedish Twisting Tower. Only in Sweden I guess.
This photo is interesting because there is a very nice balance between the clouds above and the water below. A very informative posting Wes. Nice work.

SaLut Wes,
Voila un ciel plus qu'inquietant, j'aime beaucoup la prise de vue au ras de l'eau, la reflexion de la lumičre sur les tours apportent de bien belles couleurs, le tout parfaitement nette!!
Tres joli!

Hi Wes
I'm confused. I thought Boston was on the east coast of the USA, not in California? You can edit & correct it in TE, if it's an oversight. But I like the mood & atmosphere. Surprising to see such few highrises in a major city.

It's a kind of B & W shot with... colors. The thin buildings are almost mysterious. It looks like a model.

A dramatic capture, Wes. The sky seems so low it almost touches the builings. The picture portrays the changeable weather well. Will the clouds move in from the left bringing the storm with them, or will the clearer sky to the right prevail?
