Photographer's Note
Kailua is worldwide the only 30,000+ city with tropical climate and more than 40 pct white population (1).
Since photos aren't able to let you feel the trade winds, see the theme to understand other reasons why it is so.
But for whites, even the frontline for the most exclusive mile of the last tropical paradise, Kailua, is rapidly eroding, from the northern to the southern border .
----
Notes:
(1) In Florida, tropical climate (monthly mean minimum temperature always above 17°C) starts at Miami Beach. Key West population slipped below 25,000 at the 2004 census.
For Nouméa, New Caledonia, no data have been released lately, leaving the ethnic tables from the 1996 census as the only information on ethnicity currently available.
No ethnic distribution released for Cairns and Darwin, Australia.

BTW, if you think that you got the note above, then you also should understand why TrekEarth censors my notes about other photos.
Or the "news" censor the riots in France as much as possible.

As to your note, because it doesn't tell the whole story. Kailua is part of the city of Honolulu, not a separate entity. The state of Hawaii is very diverse, with the majority population being of Japanese ancestry; the white population of the state makes up less than 20%.
