Goat Rock Beach, a photo from California, West

Photographer's Note

The coastline along Goat Rock Beach is a beautiful place. It is a combination of a few state parks in the region. The beach and the cliffs are easy to access. This is a view from the cliffs of this picture.

In WS, I have posted a middle range with a lower angle and a close range with sea level angle of the view to the same direction.

Wes, Great POV, is this north of Point Reyes, must be, how do you get there. You even caught a couple surfers, gives it scale, I like the keyhole rock, there is a number of them on the North Coast.

Hi Wes,
The four photos make a very nice presentation. While it's nice to see the detail in the WS, I clearly prefver the framing in this photo with the curve of the grassy cliffs framing the beach and sea and the interesting detail of the keyhole rock. I also like the little spray of flowers in the grass.

Back to the coast again.I like the sun probably just breaking though the clouds. That gives a special light and atmosphere.

The roar of the sea is heard.
The white surf and the green are well contrasted. I am surprised by the clarity of the view even in this low light conditions.
Nice PoV. Great composition.

Hi Wes. You know me, Mr. wide-angle, that I'm going to prefer the wide one. You worked the curving nature of the beach into the composition very well via a good POV. That light looks a bit tough to shoot into but I don' see any ill-effects. Nice shot Mr. Wes!

Well Wes from all I have seen of your middle and close range this one is the best in my estimation. Good depth and excellent exposure where it can be a challenge with clouds like this. Very nice Wes!

I see there's improvement in this shot, pal.
This image is composed in an excellent view and the framing of it beautiful. The land of grass appearing in the front, over-looking the cool breezing ocean, towards the far distance.
The exposure value is excellent, making this landscape shot in good sharpness and clarity.

The view let me fly away in to the sky...I see some peole swimming in the sea. Also noticed the beach sand is quite dark colour, here in west Japan the beach sand colour is bright brown or almost creamy white. 我要飞上去了！！哈哈！

Well composed with the lush grass setting the stage in the foreground, denoting spring. I like the sharpness level here and the view of the surf below. You again made the best of the weather and the misty look in the distance is alluring and typifies the scenery here for certain parts of the year. Well seen and captured, Wes.

Another great view of the Californian coast line. Very nice rock formation on this small bay that looks good also for surf. This shot really complement the previous one and give a nice overall view of the place.

Hello Wes, I like your composition with this great curve. It really pulls the eye around the frame. They are fascinating rock stacks out in the water. And the yellow flowers in the foreground add an unexpected touch of colour.
