Photographer's Note

Alpenglow: A reddish glow seen near sunset or sunrise on the summits of mountains.

Location: Teewinot Mountain, from Jenny Lake in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming. Elevation of Teewinot Mountain is 12,325 ft (3756 m).

About the Photo: This was the second morning of my recent trip to the Tetons. I had not been planning to take sunrise photos from this location. String Lake was my intended destination, but I made a wrong turn and ended up here by mistake. I woke up late so I didn't have time to correct my mistake. Instead I ran down to the lakes edge and began looking for a nice foreground for my shot. Just then I looked up and noticed the sun was already hitting the tip of the mountain, so I had to set up shop right then and there.

Focal length was 11mm.
A Cokin Polarizer was also used.

Side note: I just realized I have a lot of photos with the same basic composition. Here are few examples I've already posted on TE.
