Photographer's Note
Location:Albion Basin near Alta, Utah.
About the Photo: This photo was taken during my second visit to Albion Basin. Each time I’ve been blown away by it's beauty. I've been up there three times now, and each time I've seen 3 very large bull moose. I have a photo of one of them posted on Treknature. Here's a link
I had set the ISO to 400 so I could shoot fast enough to capture a bull moose, and I forget to set it back to 100 for this shot.

Can't see any negative impact of ISO 400 at this size. Nice near-far composition with wonderful wildflowers in the foreground. I also like the three trees on the right breaking up the layered composition.

Hi Ryan,
Very nice composition. The light on the mountains is wonderful, like a flame, and the colours (red, blue, green) in the foreground. Very well framed, too. Thanks.
Angel.

Hi Ryan!
Really beautifull composition here! What a incredible deep colors, amazing. You've got very well controle over the light, the mountain isn't overexposed and we can clearly see the flowers in front of the picture. Really great job with such difficult picture. 2 points!

Hi Ryan
Trčs belle composition avec une superbe lumičre sur les sommets, juste dommage que la lumičre ne baigne aussi les champs

This is really beautiful work.
The colourful flowers give a real impression of depth to the scene, and I like how you've placed the three trees off-centre to balance the sunlit mountains on the other side off the frame.
Outstanding.

Classic alpine scene, with the flowers in the foreground and the mountain behind. The sense of depth is good, and the contrast between the delicate flowers and the huge, rough mountains works well. Beautiful!

Hi Ryan,
This is really a wonderful picture in stunning light. The blue/purple and red flowers in the foreground are giving really the best they got to make this composition look like a beauty. The light on the rocks is perfect exposed...absolute a great shot, and it seems a beautiful place as well.

Very beautiful Ryan! How I miss there rocky mountains here in Portugal... Every time I see these alpine shots of yours I dream of a colder place. But when I look at the window and see the Atlantic I get back to reality ;) Nice layered composition, once again. I truly love how you carve these compositions in successive layers. The first layer with the deep saturated greens, with some drops of violet, white and red, the second one in that strong dark green, the third with that shadowed creamy sand, the golden rocky forth and finally the blue silky sky. All this is just amazing. The sharpness and definition boosts the overall quality of the photo but what I like more is your control over light. The exposure is sooooo good. Nothing to point out here. Both fore and background are well exposed… Very good indeed my friend.

Bonjour Ryan,

Hi Ryan
Yet another fine posting. Your work is always at a high level and this picture yet again impresses. I could easily see this shot as a post card. The colors and lighting is fantastic as well as the amazing sharpness. The 3 trees on the right a round out an excellent choice of composition. Nice work

Bonjour Ryan
I saw all your pictures and I want to congratulate you for the refinement of your technique and the elegance of your composition. Quite inspiring.
I cant't resist to this one because of the colourful foreground and the burst of warm light on mountain.
A bucolic mood and very attractive.

Hi Ryan:
I never get tired of viewing your Utah gallery--you shoot everything well, but your pictures of Utah really make me miss it. This is one of my favorite places I've been, but you were a lot luckier than me in terms of both weather and wildflowers--both times I went it was after the flowers had peaked, and the weather was bad. Love the red white and blue flowers with the evening sun on Devil's Castle.
Clark
P.S. Where have you been these days? I haven't seen anything new from you in a couple months. Looking forward to seeing your shots of Utah once it starts to thaw. I need to get out and shoot again--I'm getting tired of posting Canada pictures, though I've still got a few really good ones that I'm saving for a special occasion. :)
