Photographer's Note
This image is one half of a 3d anaglyph which I have created. Because most of y'all won't have the old school 3d glasses (red/blue) laying around I posted one of two images it is made from as the main image. If you do have a set, go grab them and take a look at the workshop link.
This was taken right after the first snow this season from the Roosevelt street bridge in Chicago. Let me tell you, it was cold on that bridge. They don't call it the windy city for nothing. Should call it the windy chill city.
Let me know what you think of the standard image and the 3d one.

Hi Hubert,
Love the tones here. In my opinion everything is placed well. Train filled tracks on the right, empty tracks on the left. Nice contrast. To top it off, this image brings me back some memories of your city by train.
I'm really interested in your notes. How you describe the 3D anaglyph is created and all. I wish I did have a pair of 3D glasses to check this shot out.
I also noticed you used diafine. I recently bought some Diafine and some Ilford fixer.
Would you mind telling me your method of development with Diafine and Tri-X? I'm new to film and want to do it myself.
Take care,
Brian

Good morning, Hugh,
I love the composition and perspective you have captured here. The scene is beautifully bleak, a perfect choice for black & white.
Frankly I don't care for the workshop version. I think the chill of the original is much more direct.
Regards,
Lisa

Hello Hubert,
Really I like this shot. I can not imagine what it looks like in a great print size allowed by your 6x9 camera. The composition using the rails and the trains drive the look to the background and this vertical landscape we do not know so much in Europe.
Perhaps, I would have prefered to have the top of the highest building but it is really a very low drawback.
As I am quite classical, I prefer this B&W standard view which is already strong and eye catching, but I was interested by your note.
Yves.

Hi, Hubert,
Nice to meet another photog based on the element Hu, as it were.
I like this frigid composition a lot. I agree with Yves in that my first thought was that I would like to see the top of the Sears Tower, but what can you do? It's still quite a good study in vertical and horizontal lines, black and whites, cold and, well, cold.
No 3D specs unfortunately, but I'm going to Chicago this weekend, so I'll be able to see it 3D with my own eyes. And I believe I shall pack some gloves in the camera bag.
All in all a very interesting post.
Best,
-Hugh
