Photographer's Note

General Emiliano Zapata Salazar (Aug. 8th, 1879 – Apr. 10th, 1919) is a Mexican national hero, a great leader of the Revolución Mexicana.
Zapata was a Mestizo peasant that became the leader of the Ejército Libertador del Sur (Liberation Army of the South). Among his several aliases there are El Caudillo del Sur, El Tigre del Sur and Cuauhtli del Sur (eagle of the south).
This statue stands on Chicano Park, in Barrio Logan, a neighborhood of San Diego, California, USA. This barrio has a large population of Mexican origin (a.k.a. Chicanos) and it is famous by this park, below the access to Coronado Bridge, where the highway structure was painted with murals related to the Chicano and Mexican culture, history and politics.
I didn't like the result of these photos, because of the some parts of the background therefore I post another pov in workshop.
There is other workshop with a detail of the base of the statue, with some info.
One of the most famous modern kind of reincarnations of Zapata is the Ejército Zapatista de Liberación Nacional [link to the EZLN hymn].
