Photographer's Note
This was taken on the same day as a previous posting. I was on my way back from a photo shoot at Daylesford when I noticed the rainbow on my left. Getting the shot was not easy, as I was on a freeway, but I managed to pull over and catch the scene in time before the light changed while the late afternoon traffic thundered past behind me.
PP involved some Fade Correction and a slight tweaking of the curves. The image was then cleaned up with NeatImage.
Late addition: a number of you were kind enough to point out that the horizon in this shot seems to slope. In fact the land slopes down from left to right here, as close study of the trees on the horizon and the fence post in the centre of the image will confirm. I took two photos at this spot. The other had more details in on either side -- a really scruffy little tree on the right and a large road sign on the left, so I had to "squeeze" in as much as I could :)

I am sooo jealous. I've been trying to get a good rainbow shot for a while and you got a double. :)
Oh, the critique...I would have tried to shift the picture to the left a little more to catch the second rainbow touching the ground. I would have also tried to take the horizon a bit more level. Still, a good shot.

Beautiful light on the paddock Ray, and a great sky. This would be a nice shot even without the rainbow. I do find the tilted horizon a bit distracting though.

I'll second Jennifer's comment about the horizon. Unless you're working to create an artistic effect with extraordinary geometry in an image, you would do well to bring horizontals and verticals into proper perspective. Jose Elias list this as task one of preparing an image for presentation. Here's a link to his approach to images.

This is a gorgeous image in many ways, including the luscious colors and fine detail. The choice to give minimal land and great sky works as well. Now if only you'd straightened the horizon, this would be a stunner...

belle image Ray,
cette ligne d'arbres, ces couleurs saturées, cette géométrie en font une superbe composition.
la ligne d'horizon pourrait ętre redressée un peu.
tres jolie.

Hi Ray
Very fine rainbow - this give me memories of THE rain I saw one year ago, to bad I was driving on a highway and without a camera - You got the bows just right and surely was at the right spot at right ime.
I could agree with some the other comments - but like it
still.

Dark colours in a lot of sky, amazing bright colours in the fields and two rainbows.
I like it very much, Ray !

Very Impressive, Mooi Man! I think the colour of the rainbow is especially spot-on, Ray. Could also be in the Freestate!

Ray,
Stunning picture. Great contrast between the field and the dark sky. The second rainbow is a nice bonus.
Thanks for sharing.

Very Nice Pic Ray!!, Having attempted to capture a few of Double Rainbow myself , I appreciate your efforts more a.) Because they last for very short time b.) Its difficult to capture the entire content in one screen plus the light is not sufficient c.) Last not least you want to actually see the beauty of it more rather than capture it:-)
