Photographer's Note

One of my early photos on TrekEarth was of Uluru from 30 odd thousand feet taken while flying from Melbourne to Singapore. On the same flight I took a photo of Kata Tjuta from the left hand (other) side of the aircraft. The result was less than impressive. Very bleached and blue. Tonight I was looking at it again and decided to try photoshopping it once more. Well, I was stunned. Unlike the Uluru shot which became unreal with chromatic abberations, applying auto levels to this one was like magic. Believable colours, I think. Then some sharpening. It will never be a crystal clear photo given the conditions but it has a less than ususal view. So while these rocks are not perhaps as internationally iconic as Uluru, I am posting this as an interesting adjunct to the more common land based views.
