Old Crusher House, a photo from South Australia, West

Photographer's Note

The remains of an old crusher plant at Burra in the Mid North of South Australia, about 2.5 hours north of Adelaide.

Burra was one of South Australia's major copper mining areas during the mid 1800's. The copper mine was extensive in it's day but sadly very little remains today, though what does is heritage listed and well looked after.

This picture required minor changes to Levels as it was a little over-exposed, and some sharpening in Un-Sharp mask to about 2 pixels.

A very interesting structure and story. While your composttition is nice and classic, the reason I clicked on your thumbnail is the colour depth. The yellows and deep blues together create an impressive spectacle.

What remains of the immaculate stonework in this old crusher plant shows up impressively in you image. Nice and sharp. The contrast between the stonework and the colour of the sky is superb. I like it. The history is good too. Thank you for sharing.

The blue of the sky against the color of the building is spectacular. You did a great job gaining control of the exposure.
