Photographer's Note

Maybe this photo is too abstract for the moderators. If it is, I'm ok with that. But let me first explain.

I live on the east coast of the biggest island in the world. Our coastline goes on forever. It is ancient, timeless in fact. It is inextricably - and inexplicably - linked with a breath-taking beauty, a rugged wildness that I've never encountered in any other country, and a real sense that when you walk the edge, you are walking with the spirits of the land and The Dreaming. I can't explain it in any clearer terms to to someone who is not Australian. It needs no explanation to someone who is.

This photo was taken at sunset on the coast of Western Australia. The colours have not been changed at all and in order to get the smooth effect, I panned the camera across the horizon.
