Photographer's Note
ENGLISH: This photo is of the Three Sisters in Katoomba in the Blue Mountains, an hour west of Sydney. Aboriginal legend has it that there were three beautiful sisters, Meehni, Wimlah and Gunedoo who were from the Katoomba Tribe. They fell in love with 3 brothers from the Nepean Tribe, where tribal law forbade them to do so. The 3 brothers used force to capture the three sisters, causing a tribal war. The witch doctor from the Katoomba Tribe turned the three sisters into stone in order to protect them from the three brothers. Unfortunately the witch doctor was killed in the battle and no one could return the three beautiful sisters back to their human form. So the Three Sisters remain beautiful in stone today.

Hi Lisa,
What an interesting legend! It's funny - there's a place called Nepean near Ottawa, Canada...
This looks like a fascinating place to visit. Beautiful light and colour. I think I might have cropped the bright blue part on top because it draws my eyes away from the main subject. Actually, maybe I would have cropped out some of the darker blue, too, and made it into a more square format... but then I guess it would really damage the good depth-of-field you have here. Difficult decision...
Anyway, great shot with an interesting story connected to it. You don't happen to have the address of one of those witch doctors who could turn some people around here to stone, too? ;o)
Have a great day,
Claudia

Hi Lisa
You are starting to show off now
Great photo of these mountains and rock formations. I like the blue tone of the sky and in the rock face. Vertical capture was ideal for this ,great POV.
Well done

Ciao Lisa,
interessante la leggenda delle tre sorelle che ci racconti nella nota.
Forse un giorno un'altra strega potrŕ farle tornare umane :)
Ottimo POV, vertiginoso direi.
Gradevole la luce che si riflette sulla roccia e interessante la diversitŕ di colore che questa ha, andando dal grigio al giallo e al rosso.
Forse č un pň troppo blu lo sfondo.
Un caro saluto!

Hello Lisa,
A good capture of these interesting rock formations. Good tonal contrasts between foreground and background and the whole benefits from a very pleasing light. The tones and textures in the rocks are beautifully defined.

Hi Lisa,
Darkish exposure and strong saturation shows the beauty of this place well. Those mountains are really blue, though effect may be exaggerated. Excellent light. I've been there twice on a daytrip from Sydney. But arriving there just before noon is the worst possible time to photograph those, so mine are not worth showing.

Carissima Lisa,

G'Day Lisa
There's nobody next to them to provide scale but we feel these rocks are impressive, thanks to the light they can stand out well of the dark green surroundings, beautiful nature sight indeed.
Have a nice day JY

Ciao Lisa,
bellissima, ma credo un po' troppo satura nei colori specialmente l'azzurro dello sfondo , comunque mi piace, anche la nota la trovo interessante.

Ciao Lisa, This one deserves two points not only for it's photographic qualities but also for the names of three sisters, ;-), a fantastic & interesting bit of Australian Aboriginal folklore & I for one glad you retold this story. Nice shot with the vertical framing the correct choice, I think colour is OK as this would be close to what the rocks look like.
Well done, well framed.
Un abbraccio

Hello Lisa! This is a wonderful composition and I am pretty sure that this was quite a task to bring something back that makes us appreciate the beauty out here. I love the sunlit rocks as your foreground with the blue tones of the land in the back. I always thought why these mountains were called "blue" but now this begins to make sense for me. Shame shame, I never drove to Sydney's back-country but you cannot visit everything I guess. Very nice work, Lisa, I like it a lot. Have a great weekend ... it snows where I live :))) Barbara.

Ciao Lisa. I have been meaning to come back to this superb shot. As someone pointed out, you are beginning to show off. This one is faultless, inspiring and so beautiful. It's the brilliant blue that does it against which you caught the sunlit sisters in all their majesty. Ottimo lavoro.Sei molto brava. Klaudio.
