Photographer's Note

A combination of early morning light, a clean window, a takeoff to the south and clear skies allowed me to have a spectacular view of Brisbane City from above on my recent flight to Melbourne. This photo shows the winding Brisbane River at the closest point near Norman Park in the FG, New Farm in the middle ground (showing the historic woolstores which are now trendy apartments), the Story Bridge, and the Brisbane CBD. The tallest building in the centre is Riparian Plaza, which is around 250m tall to the spire. The river can be seen again behind the city. In the background are the suburbs of Milton, Indooroopilly, and Toowong (where the dark blue building is). The greenery in the background is the base of Mt. Coot-tha, a large hill to the west of the city. It is great to see so many trees in and around the city. I will aim to upload a LP of this soon. Brisbane is the third largest city in Australia after Sydney and Melbourne, with a population of about 2 million residents.

Please see my workshop to view the city from higher up.
