Photographer's Note

ENGLISH: This is again taken at Flynn's Beach Port Macquarie whilst I was away from Sydney working. The photo was taken at dawn, at a time when I am usually in bed snoring. Flynns Beach is one of the 13 beautiful untouched beaches around Port Macquarie. It has a number of volcanic rock formations which divid it into two parts.

ITALIANO: Ancora una volta questa č prese a Flynn's Beach Port Macquarie mentre ero lontano da Sydney per il mio lavoro. La foto č stata scattata all'alba, in un momento in cui io sono solito a letto russando rumorosamente. Flynns Beach č una delle 13 spiagge belle ed incontaminate intorno a Port Macquarie. Ha un certo numero di formazioni di roccia vulcanica che dividano la spiaggia in due parti.

Hello Lisa,

Again that reddish hue on a beach picture, which I noticed (and liked) on one of your previous shots too. In that near monochrome look it creates an other-worldy feel, Mars maybe, or the Planet of the Apes!

I imagine an ape on horseback, just outside the frame, politely waiting for you to finish the picture, then galopping away.

I had to laugh out loud when I read your note - I share your love of a good lie-in and sometimes I snore, too... I should ask my cats how loud :)
I am thinking of buying a gray graduated filter, too - with certain skies it seems to me that it's the only way to avoid burning or flat areas.
I agree with Benny that the warm colours give the photo an otherworldly atmosphere, something that reminds me of movies about Mars and the red planet...
impressive landscape by the way - one more reason to visit down-under :)

i guess it sometimes pays off to be up out of bed early in the morning!
i know the feeling, its hard to get up.
but with lighting like this, its well worth it.
my favorite part is the light reflecting onto the wet sand.

What an introduction for us all to Flynn's Beach. The sculptured rocks resemble players on a surreal stage. Your Rosetta Stone like note is always appreciated, you write so well in English, I imagine the Italian version is at least as articulate.

Hi Lisa, Your seashore and coastal shots remain of such high quality. It is certainly your speciality and I guess in Aus, you have many thousands of miles to spend your life creating wonderful master pieces.. I always like footsteps on the beach. Wild rocks against the cloudy sky, with the sun just made it way up, nice to be an early riser Lisa, otherwise you'd miss this impressive view.
Dawn colors a bit enhanced by the filter used, but I think otherwise the shot would be more to the grey tone's.
