Photographer's Note
Much of the south coast of Kangaroo Island is sand although most is covered by vegetation.
In a few spots there are large areas of exposed sand hills such as this spot which is known as Little Sahara.
The sand is white and the hills are steep so plenty of people hire sand boards and trudge up to the top of the steepest hill to side down (hence all the foot marks in the sand). Once up many are reticent to go over the edge so many just sit there and watch others.
Three of those in the photo have boards but only one of them came down while I was watching.

Minimalist and clever shot that I like a lot. The blue vivid sky contrast with the white sand. Great shot!
Cheers,

Ian,
Great composition. I like the stark colours of the sand and sky as well as the textures in the sand.

Hi Ian
Won't get fooled again! ("Who's next?" is also an album title from 1971) Anyway this sand tobogganing is also popular at Moreton Island, east of Brisbane. A wonderful, deep blue sky with good sharpness & the people at the top animate the scene & provide scale. Tfs!

Hello Ian,
This is a smart composition with the line of people against the blue sky and all that white sand below. You have caught the textures in the sands very well so a great exposure.

Hi Ian !!
Here we have an image with an element of surprise as not too many people would have seen a sight like this.
Vertical frame work well with two dominant colours.
Similar hobby to what I used to do in the snow many years ago.
have a nice week end.
