Photographer's Note

As the sun is rising a lone walker strolls along the beach at Te Awanga in New Zealand's Hawkes Bay.

In the foreground driftwood has been stacked perhaps in preparation for a beach bonfire.

A very artistic presentation here Marlene - the lone figure the sculptural timber backed by the colourful sunrise. A good one.

just look at those colours, they are so beautiful.
the mixtures of blues, blacks and oranges are very romantic and warm.
the silhouettes are excellent, and i love the human touch.

A very nice shot with incredible coilors in the sky. I like too the good balalnce in the composition with the "sculptur" on the left and the loenly man on the right. Good mixte too betewwen coloured sky and balck silhouets. An image full of athmospher.

Hello Marlene,

Excellent contrast between the darkness of the earth and the firey colours of sunset. The lone walker provides a great central focus point in the midst of all the elements. Fine work!

Very interesting composition. The branches direct the eyes towards the main subject on the right third. The extreme contrast light/shadow enhanced the atmosphere.

Splendid sunset colours on a very atmospheric picture of this lone walker on a lonely beach (I guess there are many deserted beaches in NZ).
The wood for the bonfire is placed perfectly on this picture.

Hello Marlene, A beautiful image with not only interesting silhouettes but also warm colours. The human figure certainly adds to it but I think it would have worked well even without it, I don't know how well driftwood burns but you made excellent use of it ;-). The romantic atmosphere has been well captured. Thanks
