Perito Moreno, a photo from Santa Cruz, South

Photographer's Note

I know this web site has many photos from Perito Moreno, but anyway, I decided to publish another one of mine. After all, this glacier is in the size of Buenos Aires. Think about ice cube with 4,500 meter width, 37km length and 190 meter height (60 above water and 130 underwater). Add those magnificent shapes, wonderful blue color and the fact that every few minutes you can see some walls of ice crashing into the water than you will understand why it is such a popular attraction.

Indeed, it must be a fantastic experience, Alon! I would love to see it, one day. The shot is marvellous, with these magnific ice cube shapes in foreground. The light and colours are very beautiful! Good composition, as well.

Hi Alon what a spectacular capture of this giant glacier! I love the combo of craggy\sharp and rounded forms here and due to all the different blue hues it radiates also cold. Wonderfull and very well composed work.

A wonderful composition of ice with very good spread of highlights. You have also successfully captured the transparency of the huge ice block with the nice blue colour passing through it as seen on the block to the left. Excellent shot!! All the best.

Hi Alon,
A great POV for this shot of Perito Moreno Glacier. I like the way you've made a close up view of the blocs of ice in the foreground and the view of the glacier in the back. However, if I'm not mistaken, there are a few spot near the top of the photo due to a dirty sensor. Perhaps you could have use the clone-tool to remove them?

Great shadows. A lot of familiar faces have already written what Im thinking. The blue is so overwhelming and so many shades of it. You have some dramatic natuire at your disposal!

Technically its a very good one with the transparency of the ice in front and the superb cold colors..

As you can see in my gallery, I'm not a lansdcape fan but once in a while, I fall in love with great shots like this one. It's easy to shoot a glacier, hard to get a good shot out of it. Yours is great. Lots of shades and contrast and also interesting perspective. Thanks for sharing.
