I visited the cathedral many times and this was the one with the better light, anyway it was closed again. I am posting it again only because I can show you the bell tower of the cathedral, a gift of Spanish colony of Brazil. As I told you before you can read the cathedral, belfry and baptistery as the image of the main altar during a mass. The cathedral would be hands imploring to the sky and giving an offer to God, the baptistery would be the bread and the belfry would be the sacred calyx.
In the image you can see three of the evangelists near the subterranean entrance. Some meters ahead, behind of cathedral, there is the area where the embassies are located, an area I had no time to explore. Portugal, Russia and USA embassies are the closer ones of the cathedral, coincidences ? NO!

Visitei essa catedral várias vezes e desta última vez tive a melhor luz para fotos, contudo a catedral estava fechada novamente. Estou mostrando esse prédio mais uma vez para mostrar o campanário. Como já disse antes, devemos ler a catedral, o batistério e o campanário como um altar durante a missa. Sendo que a catedral săo as măos a implorar aos céus, oferecendo a dádiva, o batistério seria o păo e o campanário seria o cálice com vinho.
O campanário foi presente da colônia espanhola no Brasil. Logo atrás da catedral está a área destinada ŕs embaixadas, uma regiăo que năo explorei. Bem pertinho da catedral estăo as embaixadas dos EUA, da Rússia e de Portugal, năo uma coincidęncia.

Hello Jorge,

It is a very attractive, modern building, perfectly fitting your analogy.
The three evangelists and the coloured lines add a sense of perspective, as they lead towards the cathedral.
The light is very good on this occasion.

Why are there only three of the Evangelists? One is missing :)
Beautiful presentation of this familiar to us already structure. Nice angle which allowed you to include the giant statues.
The sky makes such a huge difference for my reception of this view. The colors are amazing and everything looks amazing.

I've seen this style of architecture for churches somewhere else but can't remember where. Another fime example of Brasilia's style.

Combination of the cathedral and the belfry is very modern and fits perfectly on this environment. Clear white against the blue sky looks great. To be honest I don't know what calyx means.

Por fin una foto donde vemos un cielo azul, tu visita a Brasilia no fue afortunada en cuanto a climatologia, el diseńo de la catedral es sin duda algo novedoso ymuy bonito, como no podia ser de otra manera estos apostoles en una escultura muy moderna tambien.
Buena gestion de la iluminación, nitidez y color.

Splendid picture of the cathedral with its very special architecture and the row of statues of evangelists.
The persons give us a good indication of the size of everything.
The bold architecture of the cathedral contrasts sharply with the monotonous high-rise buildings of the embassy district.

Essa igreja é realmente linda! Quando estive por aí a última vez, voltando do PA, MA e TO, comecei a tirar foto logo na hora em que apagaram todas as luzes da regiăo, assim que subi uma única foto no TE, isso já tem uns 13 anos... A composiçăo ficou uma beleza, com o tempo aberto e os detalhes capturados com excelente nitidez!
