Photographer's Note

A Praia do Meio ou dos Codós é uma pequena baía sendo uma das mais procuradas da vila por conta das águas calmas e cristalinas. A praia é "interrompida" por uma formaçăo rochosa de onde se podem ver outras praias e o mar aberto. No fim da faixa de areia, há um pequeno rio e uma trilha que leva ŕ outra praia.

A Praia do Meio está localizada na Vila de Trindade, bairro do município brasileiro de Paraty, no Rio de Janeiro. Contam-se muitas lendas de piratas e tesouros escondidos na vila.

Na década de 70, uma empresa multinacional invadiu a vila de pescadores com o objetivo de expulsar os moradores e criar na vila um balneário voltado para o turismo e um condomínio de luxo. A populaçăo, junto ao apoio de artistas e intelectuais, conseguiu vencer esta luta na justiça, mantendo a posse de suas terras.

Hello Luis,
This is an attractive view where you placed the beach well between the hills. I like this discreet look from a distance. The surrounding scenery looks beautiful and the sea has a nice turquoise tone.

Interesting note about recent history of this place, where local people called to protect and preserve this natural-beauty shores from the strong powers with money.

Por muito pouco năo colore também o estado de Săo Paulo! A vista da praia é muito bonita! E eu năo sabia sobre essa história das desapropriaçőes, ainda bem que năo conseguiram, senăo o lugar teria perdido todo o charme que tem, além do aumento da poluiçăo e tudo! Belo trabalho!

Hello Luis,
Very nice capture of the little beach in between the rocks here, also the green hill looks good and makes a fine background. The rough sea isn't very inviting for a swim, but the people who did come to the beach add a nice lively mood over there.

Hello Luis Gustavo, Nice beach, just as I like, with the rich vegetation, some rocks. I was on similar n=beach in Rio de Janeiro, not on the famous Copacabana. Charming place. Nice view from behind the rocks.

Beautiful picture of this attractive beach hidden between woods and rocks. I think much more attractive than one kilometres long beach. Much more to enjoy than just the sand and the water.

nunca havia visto fotos desta praia, que é mesmo paradisíaca. gosto muito destas "ilhas de rocha" unidas pelos bancos de areia. aqui a luz estava difícil.

Hi Luis,
lovely beach and you have captured it from a nice angle, having the rocks as a foreground.
The clouds seem to cover the sunlight and there is plenty of shade which makes is less eye catching than it could be under more favourable light conditions but one cannot always have a perfect light.
Great spot though and very well selected composition,
