JK BRIDGE AT DISTANCE, a photo from Distrito Federal, Center-West

Photographer's Note

I was walking around the areas of Alvorada Palace, that is surrounded by Paranoá Lake. This big artificial lake was created to supply the city with its waters and electricity, but at same time to give it air humidity because during six months of the years Brasilia has an humidity similar with the deserts, as you can see in this dead grass in FG.
The lake has many long branches and when the city begun to grow it was necessary to build more bridges to cross it and the most beautiful of them is JK Bridge, created by architect Alexandre Chan in 2002, with 1.2 kilometers and receiving an international prize because the project. The bridge has three big arches positioned in different positions. A pity I had no time to visit the bridge and take better photos, this one is not good and the nocturne view was a deception.

Eu estava caminhando próximo ao Palácio da Alvorada, que é rodeado pelo Lago do Paranoá. Esse grande lago artificial foi criado para dar a Brasília água e eletricidade, servindo para aumentar a umidade do ar durante a época das secas.
O lago tem vários ramos e quando a cidade começou a crescer foi necessário erguer mais pontes e dentre elas a mais bela é a Ponte JK, criada pelo arquiteto Alexandre Chan em 2002, com 1,2 km de extensăo e formada por tręs arcos posicionados em posiçăo diferente. Por conta do projeto ele ganhou pręmios internacionais. Uma pena que năo pude visitar a ponte por falta de tempo e esta foto ŕ distância năo é das melhores, sequer a vista noturna prestou.

Hello Jorge,
It's a very elegant modern bridge with beautifully curved arches. I like this view with nicely saturated dark colours filling the foreground.

Hi Jorge,
Yes this is a place which you definitely have to visit again especially at the blue hour. I suppose you were soiled there with the photo opportunities and it was hard to pick among them.
I like how the arches alternate on different sides of the bridge. The quality is not optimal but we can appreciate the beauty of the place,

The lonely bird is animating the scene. The point of view is showing the details of of the JK bridge. The cloudy sky is givng a good contrast to the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Jorge, I like bridges and this one looks impressive and beautiful. Have you went through this bridge? 1,2 km is quite long. What means JK? Kubitchek?

Even from this distance one can see how elegant and artsy the bridge is. Brasilia has architecture Brazilians can be proud of.
