The Tiradentes Railroad Station. Tiradentes is a small but well managed historic and touristic city far around 330Km from Rio de Janeiro and less than 200Km from Belo Horizonte.

Tiradentes had an estimated population of 6,000 in 2004. The original village was established in 1702 and become a city on 1718.

The former name of the city was São José del Rey and it was changed as soon as Brazil adopted the Republic instead of the Monarchy to "Tiradentes", a national hero who was born there.

The photo is from the railroad station in the final railway of the São Joâo Del-Rei - Tiradentes touristic trip. The steam engine locomotive we can see here.
