Photographer's Note

Day 10 - After have seem how the traditional weavers wash the wool and the local plants they use to dye it, we can see here one of the weavers showing our group how they dye the woll. They use a wood stove and those big saucepans to put the plants and some water to boiled, them they immerse the wool and let for few minutes. The same plant can produce different colors tones depending on how long they let the wool immerse on the natural dye. We can see on the picture the different tones produced by the Cochinilla plant based on this process.
The blue textile that she is wearing is the kind of product they produce on the cooperative. On the picture background we can other samples.
Picture quality is not very good, but I decided to post to illustrate an important part of the traditional dyeing process. Thanks for your comments and suggestion to improve.
