Photographer's Note
In Peru, when the Spaniards conquered the indigenous people, many of the old sacred sites were either razed or built over with monasteries and churches. This is probably one of the finest examples of this. The Temple of the Sun in Cusco was such a stalwart structure that the monks kept most of the original building intact and either built around it or inside it. We see three eras in this shot: to the right and on the floor we have ancient Incan, to the left and in the background we see medieval Catholic, and on the ceiling we have modern Peruvian.

This seams to be a great place to visit. Ancient ruins and modern architecture together is a good combination if well explained. I like the B&W but it also would be interesting to see some colour in the form of the original shot. Well done.
