Photographer's Note
This will be my last shot from Uruguay before moving on to Argentina, which is fitting as it depicts the lovely restaurant where we ate dinner on our last night in Uruguay.
This is the interior of La Casa de Jorge Paez Vilaro, a small restaurant/art gallery located within Colonia's old town. As we were there in winter, there wasn't much activity at night; the restaurant, though lovely and with excellent food, remained empty save for us the entire night. This gave me a good opportunity to catch the gorgeous lighting and decor without any interruption (and despite posted 'no photography' signs - I couldn't resist!)
Between the rich stone walls, deep red tablecloths, bright spot lighting on tables and wall hangings, and the art and puppetry on the walls, the place was a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach. As I had to take furtive shots, I didn't quite get the chance to line things up the exact way I wanted, but I'm pleased with how this particular shot came out.
Tomorrow: on to Buenos Aires!

Hi Andrew,
I'm sure you had a very enjoyable dinner. We almost feel the kind of romantic atmosphere in the restaurant.

Hello Miguel,
Your surely enjoying yourself. This restaurant shot is beautiful and inviting. Your composition is great. The choice to go vertically was the right choice to make. The nice table is the focal point of your picture. But it is well complemented by the art surroundings them and the beautiful walls. Nice use of the light.

What a great "marriage", namely a restaurant and an art gallery.
Yes, I guess you and your companion were very lucky to be the only guests on the plate:)
Indeed, an extraordinary interior decoration and the light is so well arranged all over, beautiful colours.
Maybe one day, I will travel to Uruguay too, so this unique place, I put on the waiting list things to visit.

Hi Andrew
Brownie points for photographing where all photographers fear to go. I'd be too scared of being thrown in gaol or held hostage until my family paid the ransom. Or does that only happen in Alabammy? :) Anyway, a very inviting scene, where the light is attractive, warm and welcoming. Quite a romantic scene. Nice work, and done on the hop.
Cheers

Hello Andrew,
This is an excellent interiour photo. Perfect lighting and very good light-shadow contrast. Pefect choise of crop allows eyes to remain fixed on the well lighted glasses on the table. This is really a good example of interiour photography mode. Vertical composition works great for this.

Hello Andrew,
Indoor's shot at dinner table, with many interesting elements in picture-space's.
Light management was very good, under those given conditions, and an interesting note written.

Hi Andrew !!
I am glad that you persisted and got this photo....... these type of restaurants have such a special mood with old decorations and dimmed light.
I attempted similar shots on two or three occasions in Argentina but did not get any good results ..... yours is very nice.
Well done.
Gus
