Photographer's Note
On Montevideo's waterfront, one can eat at the Mercado del Puerto (Port Market), an indoor but open-air structure containing several parrillas, or Argentinean grills. Meat is cooked on large racks over wood fires, like the one seen in the left of this shot. Montevideo has many of these, which helped contribute no doubt to the almost constant odor of wood burning, at least in the day and a half we were there.
I had to take several versions of this shot before getting one I was happy with, as the constant motion of the cooks made it difficult. Finally, the main cook took a moment to breathe, and I was able to capture him, his grill, and the bustle around him.

Hi dear Andrew, how are you?
Sorry for my late reaction. Exactlly a great daily snap shot indeed! Taking slow shutter speed is very very effective in this situation. Perfect framework and sharp / clear presentation as usual. Thanks for your sharing with the finest work and have a good day! Best regards,

Hello Andrew,
Very nice portrait of a every day situation. I like the fact that the first cook is appearing clear while the second one is on the move to serve a customer (I presume). I fine your picture well frame because we can see the food on the left but I'm wondering if it would not be more efficient if we could see the customers to whom the cooks seem to be responding.
Still is a great picture.

I had a lunch here many years ago and took some images, unfortunately my camera wasn't able to get nice quality of image like this one. excellent view catching the workers and the meat and the system they use here. I remember the big amount of wine I took here(a glass of wine was enought for me) and how was difficult to come back to the hotel, walking in the edge of the river. haha.;
excellent image. well composed.

Hello Andrew,
I like this shot because it conveys a scene of daily life. We can casually observe the workers and the grill behind them. Your persistence in taking several shots paid off. I like the combination of the resting worker, and the one in motion. I am not a huge meat fan, but the meats on that grill look very tasty. I can imagine the smell of the wood burning and the meat cooking.
